If you haven’t already done so, do yourself a favor and watch this video of Paris Hilton on David Letterman from over the weekend. Some say, instant classic. Other, instant classic.

[video no longer available - 2008]

I have been listening to quite a lot of Imogen Heap lately. I don’t really have much to say about it, except that good music is nice.

It feels really great to write the word October with the understanding that it’s just begun. I always think September is my favorite month, but it isn’t true. Now that I live on the east coast I’ve had to adjust my vital stats. The weather is becoming more bearable (if only briefly), the leaves are hanging by threads, oranges and browns and reds are coming out in scarves and socks and sweaters. Ah!

I spent the weekend in Connecticut for a family friend’s birthday party. Next weekend I will head up to Boston and the Cape. And the following week I will be in Maine and New Hampshire for my second annual Leaf Peep. Sadly, this trip falls when PJ and Tori are here performing in NYC. I might be able to attend the second Tori show, and I’d like to because I told Neil I’d take him. For the last ten years I’ve done everything in my power to go to every Tori concert that money and bosses would allow. It’s definitely strange to not be in that mindset anymore. People ask me if I stopped liking her or if I’m mad at her for releasing concept albums and wearing wigs, but that’s not it at all. I imagine that most of you reading this, if you had seen Tori 90 times (or any artist for that matter), you’d also be ready for something else. The saturation point has been reached, and I realized that when I walked out of three of the five concerts I saw in Europe in favor of more sightseeing. It’ll still be fun to catch a few shows this tour to meet up with old friends and hear some good songs. But at this point I think less is more for me.

In newer news, my Cowboys are 4-0! Yah! Thank you, Tony Romo. Good luck to the Colorado Rockies today as they attempt to slay the Padres. My condolences to Mets fans everywhere. My curses to the Phillies.

My little Belgian bitz flies in this Friday. I’m so excited. Also, Friday marks the first time I will go to the dentist in two years. My old dentist had a baby and decided she didn’t want to be a dentist anymore, and I delayed finding someone new. I am as nervous as a chicken in a wolf pen.
